Who We Are

RideMarket is a Canadian powersports marketplace operated by RideFirst Finance, an Alberta-based business. RideMarket allows consumers to browse dealer and private-seller inventory and use marketplace tools without submitting a financing request.

RideFirst Finance also operates optional financing-related tools and dealer technology services. Financing is separate from ordinary RideMarket marketplace use, and RideFirst Finance does not itself make lending decisions through RideMarket.

Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on which RideMarket or RideFirst Finance features you choose to use.

• Account and contact information: Information such as your name, email address, phone number, account identifiers, and information needed to operate or secure an account.
• Marketplace listing information: If you create a private listing, we may collect seller contact information, unit details, description, price, location, photographs, and other information you choose to provide with the listing.
• Marketplace inquiries and activity: Information you submit when contacting a dealer or private seller, requesting an appraisal or trade response, and marketplace preferences or activity that are stored by the platform, such as saved or compared rides where applicable.
• Location information: Province, city, postal-area or other location information you provide. If you choose a browser-based "near me" feature, location information may also be processed with your device or browser permission for that feature.
• Optional financing information: If you choose to submit a financing request, we may collect information such as income range, credit-score range, down-payment information, trade-in information, unit preference, budget, province, and communication preferences.
• Technical and session information: Essential session, browser, device, security, and request information may be processed to authenticate users, protect the platform, maintain preferences, and operate website functionality.

RideMarket does not require a financing request in order to browse marketplace inventory. The initial financing tools covered by this policy do not require your Social Insurance Number (SIN), date of birth, detailed banking credentials, or employer information.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for purposes connected to the RideMarket marketplace, related RideFirst Finance services, and the specific features you choose to use. These purposes may include:

• Operating, securing, and maintaining your account
• Publishing and managing private-seller listings you submit
• Delivering marketplace inquiries to the relevant dealer or private seller and allowing them to respond
• Operating saved, compared, recently viewed, search, filter, location, appraisal, trade, and related marketplace functionality where applicable
• Preventing fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or misuse of the platform
• Responding to support, privacy, account, or listing requests
• Processing an optional financing request and routing it for the financing-assistance purpose disclosed when you submit it
• Complying with applicable legal, regulatory, security, and record-keeping obligations

We do not use ordinary marketplace activity as permission to submit a financing application on your behalf. A financing-related submission occurs only when you choose to use the applicable financing feature.

How We Share Your Information

Personal information may be shared only as reasonably necessary for the feature or service you choose to use, including in the following circumstances:

• Dealers and private sellers: When you send a marketplace inquiry, the information you submit may be shared with the dealer or private seller associated with that listing so they can respond.
• Optional financing requests: If you choose to submit financing-related information, relevant information may be shared with participating dealer partners or other authorized financing participants as necessary to respond to that request and as disclosed during the financing process.
• Service providers: We use third-party infrastructure providers, including HostGator for web hosting and database infrastructure, to operate our services. These providers process information on our behalf for operational purposes.
• Legal and security requirements: We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful process, protect users or the platform, investigate fraud or abuse, or enforce our Terms.

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable administrative and technical precautions to protect personal information from loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. Measures used across the platform include:

• SSL/TLS encryption for website traffic (HTTPS)
• Access-controlled storage and restricted administrative access
• Account, session, and request-security controls designed to reduce unauthorized access and misuse
• Limiting access to personal information to people who require it for legitimate operational purposes
• Avoiding storage of sensitive financial credentials that are not required for the service being provided

No internet transmission, software system, or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, for legitimate platform administration and security, or as required or permitted by applicable law.

• Account, listing, inquiry, marketplace, and support information may be retained while needed to operate the applicable feature, maintain platform records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.
• Financing-related information may be retained for a reasonable record-keeping period after a request is completed, declined, withdrawn, or becomes inactive.
• Information may be deleted, anonymized, or retained for a longer period where required or permitted for legal, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or record-keeping reasons.

You may request access, correction, withdrawal of consent, or deletion of personal information as described below. Some information may need to be retained where permitted or required by law or where necessary for legitimate security, legal, or operational purposes.

Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable Canadian privacy law, you may have rights regarding personal information we hold about you, including:

• Access: Request access to personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information
• Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent for certain uses of personal information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice
• Deletion: Request deletion of personal information, subject to information we are permitted or required to retain
• Complaint: Raise a privacy concern with us and, where applicable, make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another appropriate privacy regulator

Cookies, Local Storage and Website Data

RideMarket may use essential cookies, session storage, local storage, or similar browser technologies to operate account authentication, security controls, saved or compared ride states, interface preferences, and other marketplace functionality.

These essential or functional technologies are used to operate the platform and do not by themselves authorize unrelated third-party advertising or the sale of personal information.

If we introduce materially different analytics, advertising, or tracking practices in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice or consent mechanism required by applicable law.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to provide infrastructure and support platform operations. Our current core hosting provider identified in this policy is:

• HostGator — Web hosting and database infrastructure used to operate RideMarket and RideFirst Finance services. Information stored through the platform may be processed on infrastructure provided by HostGator on our behalf.

Third-party providers are used for operational purposes and are not authorized by us to use personal information for their own unrelated marketing. Third-party websites, dealers, sellers, lenders, or services that you choose to interact with may also have their own privacy practices and terms.

Children's Privacy

RideMarket's account, listing, inquiry, and financing-related services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. Public marketplace pages may be viewable without an account, but we do not knowingly solicit personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and address the request appropriately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to RideMarket, RideFirst Finance services, our privacy practices, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and provide additional notice where required.
